[aprssig] Broken digis (Ohio to Oklahoma and everywhere in between)

Based on a trucker driving through the midwest running a D700 with the path "RELAY,WIDE" it is obvious that there are several digis that have not been converted over to the New n-N paradigm (see list below). If you own / operate one of these stations please updated it to the New n-N paradigm using the information at this page: http://www.ew.usna.edu/~bruninga/aprs/fix14439.html Doing so will help create one uniform, usable, nationwide APRS network. These digis are of very little value until they are updated since, as they are configured, they will only support RELAY and WIDE (They may also support the "old" non-traceable WIDEn-N paradigm which is different from the New n-N paradigm which has full tracing of WIDEn-N). For the source of these data just pull the last five days of data from findu for station KC4WDM-5.

Digis that still support RELAY:
  K0STL-15
  K9SM
  KB0WZI-3
  KB9OQF-3
  KD5STN-1
  N0OTM-15
  N0MFD-7
  N0MFD-8
  N9AMN-2
  N9GTL-10
  W0APR-3
  W0BOB-3
  W9MBD
  W9UUU-10 (K9HX)
  WHTNY (N0ALJ)

Digis that still support WIDE:
  GAYLOR (K5BOC)
  K0STL-15
  MTMAG (K5BOC)
  N9GTL-10
  N9UT-10
  W0APR-3
  W0BOB-3
  W8MCA-1
  W9GSS
  W9HOI
  W9MBD
  W9UUU-10 (WA9VRH)
  WHTNY (N0ALJ)

There were also a few unidentified digis that supported RELAY and WIDE but did not use callsign substitution.

It looks like several (but not all) of these are from the St. Louis area. I remember reading a post here from someone saying that most of the St. Louis area digi operators have decided to stick with the old system. Does anyone know their reason for adamantly sticking with an old, inefficient, broken system?
