[aprssig] Data Parsing

Thank you, Mr. Rich.  This information sent me in the right direction.  After reading through the archives, I think I can now get the info as an un-authenticated consumer of data. -MJ

Yes,

You have not specified what port of first.aprs.net you connected to ?

You will get the keep alive only when

1. The world has truely been wipped of all APRS
2. The server has not been told what to send you back

Hello!
I attempted to telnet to first.aprs.net in order to get 10 minutes of raw
data to play with, but all I get is a "keep alive" string.  Is there
something that I'm missing?  All I want is data, not to send data into the
system.  -MJ
