[aprssig] Kenwood D700 suggested settings?

Does anyone have links etc for setup information on the Kenwood D700 
to use APRS via ground and satellites? Computer programs to drive it?
I bought this radio new, nearly 4 years ago, took one look at the 
instruction manual and decided, it was all too hard :-)
