     Seems to me ... One of you APRS IS software types
(with too much time on their hands) could write
scripts to parse the data stream to plot, on a US map,
things like:

 Locations, over some time period, of:
    Mobiles reporting position - to show holes in
coverage.
    "RELAY" digis.
Research possibilities are endless.  
    Mobiles pathing Relay.
    Mobiles pathing WideN-n
    User defined (dynamic) path filter...
    Etc.

   Software is almost as powerful as the
imagination...
