A little more expensive, but I recently bought the Garmin GPSMAP 76 CSx.  It
handles SD memory cards, it has both USB and Serial ports, does NEMA, it
also floats if you are into water sports.

Fellow members,

I am looking to acquire a new GPS for APRS and geocaching. I like the looks
of the Garmin Venture Cx hiker package. I note that Garmin seems to have
eliminated the NMEA interface. I would also want the GPS to be compatable
with DeLorme Street Atlas 2008 on my laptop.

Has anyone been down this route that can offer any suggestions.
