Yes, I would suggest WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1.

In our area (Chesapeake Bay) 2 hops should get to an Igate.  And
by starting with WIDE1-1, then someone with a mobile coiudl
drive along the shore and with a small beam, act as a WIDE1-1
digi to get the packet out if needed.
