Baloney.  That user IS on the air, already, regardless of path.
Now, to effectively share the network resources graciously provided by other
hams as a courtesy to all the users (digipeaters and IGates) just might
require _a bit_ of learning how to play nice with others, and communication.
Fact of life, sorry.

But it's not too tough.  Lots of users have been working it out better
together for years and years so far.  Mobile, start learning with
WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1.  Experience helps, as does listening on VHF.
