And not expected to be used in 99.9999% of all applications, but if someone needed to indicate it for some special reason, then there is a symbol for it. I think this came about when looking at all the possible types of "emergency" power systems. And doubtful that "5" or "6" wouild be used for anything else... So why not make it available. Maybe a guy operating a 60 Hz system surrounded by 50 Hz mains might need to indicate his power source during an emergency?
