The browser doesn't show the error message. It simply
doesn't show the icon. You need some add-ons for
the browser to see the error message, e.g. YSlow
for Firefox/Firebug

If I call the icon alone with the browser at
http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/gmapicon.cgi?call=F5VAG&icon=/-
I get sometimes no response at all, but mostly the same server
error.
