Oh, SOME of us realize it.. like those of us who have to try to 
implement the correction in little 8-bit micros with no time and date 
libraries... <grumble>

(FWIW, the NMEA outputs I've looked at seem to be corrected for leap 
seconds.  Garmin binary mode is NOT, but it does at least tell you what 
the difference is.)
