[aprssig] XASTIR and /dev/tty.usbserial

I have a Prolific usb to serial converter.

I am running MAC OS X.

I have installed minicom, and can talk to my TNC using /dev/ 
tty.usbserial

I quit minicom and run XASTIR

I stick in the same device into the XASTIR, as a serial TNC, it just  
sits there I assume trying to open /dev/tty.usbserial.

I changed the permissions on /dev/tty.usbserial to 777.

What can I do to see what XASTIR is doing ?
