Gee, does it really matter about some "stupid" Iraqi regulation? Americans can do whatever they want there, and if anyone disagrees, We just kill them. Most soldiers and contractors already have Inmarsat-c, So APRS is like mapping the dinosaur genome... what's the point? After You suck up a few thousand RAD's of DU, you AND your family will be dead In a few years after you return home. But enjoy your oil spoils while You can. So to answer your original question, the official position is: "NO Americans have ever visited Iraq." -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at lists.tapr.org] On Behalf Of Matthew Stennett Sent: Wednesday, June 25, 2008 1:40 AM To: aprssig at lists.tapr.org Subject: [aprssig] APRS in Iraq? Has anyone been to Iraq and knows about operation there? Is anyone running APRS there, on HF ? I doubt anyone would be on it on VHF/UHF, but I guess I could get on with a SAT if anything passes by. Would be interested to hear from ANYONE who has been (especially if you have shot pictures). I am in the process of being accepted for a "Contractor's" job, and want to know what to expect. _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ aprssig mailing list aprssig at lists.tapr.org https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/aprssig
