The definition of the q algorithm is found at http://www.aprs-is.net/q.aspx The 92E5A2B6 and A55B8C1C are the IP addresses from where the packet was received (146.229.162.182 (THIRD) and 165.91.140.28 (FIRST)) by a server. This is because a server doesn't know the callsign-SSID of the server they are connected to (just like a client doesn't know the callsign-SSID of the server it is connected to). This is a limitation of the original APRS-IS design and how the q algorithm accounts for it. 73, Pete Loveall AE5PL pete at ae5pl dot net > -----Original Message----- > From: Keith VE7GDH > Sent: Saturday, May 03, 2008 9:06 PM > To: TAPR APRS Mailing List > Subject: [aprssig] path from IGate to server(s)... > > 2008-05-03 18:42:09 PDT: > VE7BGB>APD225,TCPIP*,qAI,VE7BGB,THIRD,92E5A2B6,FIRST,A55B8C1C,T2FINLAND > :!5207.84NI12207.16W& Williams Lake Embedded IGate > > Other than being connected to THIRD instead of a Tier 2 server, the > first part (qAI,VE7BGB,THIRD) looks pretty normal but I don't really > understand the second part.
