I just spoke with the vendor that will be at my local hamfest and he didn't know much other than that he has had them on back order for 3 months. He expects to hear something at Dayton, that something could be a new product (TH-D71 maybe) or the retirement of the product line. His thoughts were that it would be the former, but we'll see.
