[aprssig] APRS messaging agent

I am looking for some code preferably in PERL, that I can run that would handle APRS messaging.

I would like for field operators to be able to use any APRS messaging client, and then the HQ
use LINUX and PERL and APRS to input data into a MySQL database.

Anything around that will do this ?

open (tnc,"/dev/ttyS0");

while (<tnc>)
{

accept APRS messages to me, HQ.
insert into MySQL (easy bit)
send an ack back 

}
