I spent the whole weekend 15 feet from the Yaesu booth, and still didn't get to see the VX8R. We did try peeking in during setup, but didn't see much. Does anyone know if Yaesu worked with any active APRS users on the development of this radio? Products developed in a vacuum are rarely very good. I wonder what quirks we might expect to see if it was developed solely with the input of Japanese hams. Anyone know what the APRS environment is like there? I ship a lot of trackers to Japan, but I almost never get any correspondence back unless there's a delivery problem.
