Spent plenty of time myself rewriting COBOL and FORTRAN, and quite a bit of PL/SQL, but at least it wasn't perl... Just for kicks, I brought up the source code for the TNC-X - never looked at it before, but it's about as I expected - nearly every line is completely documented, unless it's really obvious what it does. Unfortunately, not all APRS software authors are computer science professors! =] I think I manage about a 5:1 ratio, but I use a bit more whitespace than John... Scott N1VG
