Sort of like "EMAIL version 2". This is also stated at the http://www.aprs-is.net/Email.aspx page Bill gave in his post. > > Since the address in a message packet is always 9 characters, shortening this by 3 or 4 characters does nothing for bandwidth. I use a TH-D7A for messaging sometimes and the delay to add a the extra 3 or 4 characters is insignificant IMO. It is easy for people to remember "EMAIL" as a callsign and hopefully "EMAIL-2" as the "version 2" of the EMAIL server. > Ok so if my javAPRSSrvr is using LA3QMA-JS it's ok to use EMAIL or EMAIL-2 as the "callsign" for the mail function? What if 100 other with this "plugin" is using EMAIL/EMAIL-2. are the user then getting duplicate messages on RF and/or in the e-mail ? Or should the callsign be like LA3QMA-EM and when a user sends a message to either EMAIL og EMAIL-2 my server is using this but with LA3QMA-EM as the "provider" ?? The way i have read the howto the user has to send the message to i.e LA3QMA-EM / LAMAIL-2 for this plugin to work and not the generic EMAIL/EMAIL-2 Kai Gunter LA3QMA
