Traffic reports are being transmitted via APRS now. I can't give a specific locatiion or locations but I have seen them show up as "?" and the Icon name is TRAFIC or some such thing. But, I don't know what the source is or how data is being assimilated. Now that I think about it, I have heard interference on my 2M APRS rig while travelling in the last two years or so to GA, FL to name a few and have seen devices on the shoulder of construction areas on X ways. I didn't get a chance to look at the radio when I went by to see if I was picking up out of band splatter or in band data. Too busy driving in the one lane that I could use.
