PS Map 60CSx has a built-in altimeter and magnetic compass=2C and pretty se=
nsitive receivers=2C it would be worth a look.  It's basically the same as =
my eTrex Vista HCx=2C but it has a serial port (and is in a big ugly packag=
e).

Just stay away from the car-oriented ones.

the days of the GPS II=2C III and V=2C they have some neat displays and fea=
tures now=20
but have also been taken mainstream consumer which I call "stupified". Lack=

serial data=2C lack of technical display screens...it's going to be a tough=
