Hi Stephen Actually it does reduce the size of the imbedded image as long as you choose the option "change the resolution" If you select "No Change" it just tries to compress it, often with very little improvement. I just confirmed this starting with a 7+ megapixel image. After resizing it was down to 650 kilopixels.
