There are a few gateways down on HF in the 30m band. I use a TT3 with a 
FT-100d when not on voice and have perty good luck with it. I think any 
HF rig would work that has 30m in fact there is a MFJ rig on 20m or 
could build something suitable for 30m where I see most of the gateways.
