[aprssig] Voice Alert on Yaesu FT-8800?

I'm wondering if anyone has found a way to get APRS voice alert to work on 
a Yaesu FT-8800/FT-8900.  The CTCSS squelch appears to kill ALL the data 
coming out of the 1200 and 9600 "data" pins (unlike the Kenwood 
D&/D700/D710).  I'm looking for maybe a different tap point internal to the 
radio, unless someone knows of an easier way...
