[that is showing] > up as a [recommended] voice repeater frequency object Of course, you have to be in simplex range of these frequency objects to see them, because if they are beaconed over areas where they are not useable, then they are SPAM and should be erradicated.. But that being said, if you are in range of ANY APRS digipeater then its locally recommended local voice frequency object should show up on your radio. > What method is traditionally used to "inject" > these types of objects into the APRS data stream? That is simple.. EVERY DIGIPEATER is supposed to provide this frequency object to its users. Basically, the DIGI is making sure that all APRS mobiles within its (the digi's) footprint are being informed about the recommended VOICE repeater in the digi's coverage area. Notice the distinction. This is -not- a frequency object for every voice repeater. It -is- supposed to be -ONE- recommended voice frequency object in the vicinity of -each- digi. Every digipeaeter is supposed to use its BTEXT for this object. See how on www.aprs.org/localinfo.html I need your help to contact every digi operator in your area (and anywhere else you stumble across them) and make sure his digipeater is doing this according to the New-N paradigm settings since 2004. When you drive through an area, and don't see these objects on the front panel of your radio, then get on the air, find the local voice repeater and ask them to contact their local APRS sysop and findout why not? Thanks Bob, Wb4APR
