Europeans in the Azores and UK: Please listen on 144.39 for this balloon headed your way! Its also beaconing in CW on 10.146.93 . Any reception reports please. FINDU last heard it about 0100z, but as of now (about 2100z) it can still be heard on HF! Bob, WB4APR -----Original Message----- Subject: PBH Flight 9 - KC2TUA-8 Heading Towards Azores and UK Our launch of PBH Flight 9 to attempt the world record for duration has been successful (please see www.twitter.com/pbh3 for more information). Our balloon is still flying and on track to pass over the Azores and into the UK, assuming that our battery lasts and the balloon survives another night without splashing down. Do you know what are the VHF frequencies for APRS in the Azores and UK? If we make it to the Azores or Europe we would like attempt to track the balloon. Our Big Red Bee transmitter is tuned to 144.390MHz, so if European frequencies for APRS are different than those in the USA, could we ask a fellow ham in Europe to change his APRS base station to 144.390MHz in order to facilitate our entry into the APRS-IS? Thanks so much for creating APRS! Our situational awareness would not have been nearly as good as it was without it.
