The ninth annual Great Plains Super Launch (GPSL) will be held in Topeka,
Kansas, on July 16-19, 2009.  A detailed schedule of events is still being
finalized, but the following is on the books now:


July 16 (Thursday)
1 pm - Garmin tour (Olathe KS)
Evening - Screening of the movie "BLAST" (location TBD)

Jul 17 (Friday)
All day - Conference presentations (Kaw Area Techical School, Topeka)

Jul 18 (Saturday)
7:30am - Launch (Topeka area, exact site TBD based on wind predictions)
7 pm - Post-flight dinner

Jul 18 (Sunday)
Launch (if delayed by weather)

The Great Plains Super Launch is a gathering of amateur-radio high-altitude
ballooning (ARHAB) enthusiasts to share information and to participate in a
mass launch.  The event has been held each year since 2001 with launch sites
in Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.  Around 10 simultaneous
flights are expected at the group launch Saturday morning.  The flights will
be on Sunday if weather forces a postponement.

You need not be a member of an ARHAB group, or an Amateur Radio operator, to
attend and participate.  In fact, having extra hands available Saturday
morning to help with the launches will be greatly appreciated - no
experience necessary.
