A simple averaging system will eventually work... over a period of weeks. However, a simplified system that decorrelates the data by taking positoins every 30- to 60-sec for some relatively large number of samples, at least one day (24 hours) would provide a decently accurate position in 2D. Getting height right is a hit or miss proposition, however, using only L1. If one were to use the aforementioned decimation approach with a modern receiver with WAAS enabled, one would have a much better 3D "survey". gerry Cap Pennell wrote: > And (not APRS, but) Stan Huntting KW7KW created SAwatch to do the smoothing > too, and it works with the TAPR DGPS Reference Station Interface Board. > > http://www.huntting.com/sawatch/ > http://www.tapr.org/gps_dgps.html#gpsoncore > > 73, Cap > > >> -----Original Message----- >> From: aprssig-bounces at tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at tapr.org] On >> Behalf Of Steve Dimse >> Sent: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 5:15 PM >> To: k5ykg at arrl.net; TAPR APRS Mailing List >> Subject: Re: [aprssig] TAPR Differential GPS Reference Station >> >> I forget the exact algorithm TAC-2 used, it was some sort of >> averaging.
