I think it would help to start with the software authors. I had to drop APRSD because I could *never* get it to gate to RF properly, regardless of settings. I switched to Xastir and it *did* work, but now it doesn't, and I haven't made any significant changes other than upgrading Xastir. If we could get all of the (surviving) authors to verify that their software gates properly to RF and provide recommended settings, that'd be a start. And even before that, we really need a spec that says how messaging SHOULD work. As far as I know, that's not officially defined anywhere. Scott N1VG
