The Rino series also works well. The Rino 520/530 HCx requires the PC data cable (Garmin P/N
010-10572-00) in order to get RS-232 in and out. I've tried it with a D700 and found it to work well. The 100-series Rinos also work well and don't require a special cable since they have RS-232 built in.
Supposedly Garmin has an RS-232 cable in works for their Colorado series of handhelds, too, which will be nice to use with APRS thanks to their larger display.
