From what I've seen, that "feature" describes a majority of the dual band radios. I also am watching/waiting for a less expensive dual band (V+V preferred) that allows data to transmit on one band while the microphone keys the other band. Given the infrequency and shortness of data bursts, I'm perfectly willing to live with the interruptions when either side is transmitting. I do that today with my mobile and the HT that's tracking. I hear a short gap in received audio when the tracker fires. Of course, the tracking side needs to not key the transmitter if the audio side is transmitting!
