It may be related to Microsoft's Mapoint itself. Seems like a year or two ago there was a thread on the list about how the 2008 version of mappoint installed all kinds of crap on the machine that would monitor your activities. Thank You, Brian N2KGC -----Original Message----- From: aprssig-bounces at tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at tapr.org]On Behalf Of Billy Mason (E-Lists) Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2009 6:49 PM To: aprssig at tapr.org Subject: [aprssig] APRSPoint + Spyware ? Does anyone know what is up with APRSPoint? While attempting to download the latest installment of APRSPoint, my firewall aborted the download indicating "This request is blocked by the SonicWALL Anti-Spyware Service. Name: SupremeSpy Setup Download supremespydemo.msi (Commercial Monitoring Software)". Granted, it has been several years since I looked at APRSPoint, but with the notice received above, one has to wonder if the application is safe. Yes, I realize I could make an exception to the Anti-Spyware Service to allow the file to download, but I chose not to.
