For the given mission (APRS gateway or digipeater) and the existing hardware (wireless ap with 16/32 MB RAM) the ruby software is running fine, no performance problems. In fact, in the past we had some serious problems with memory leaks. But all of these problems came from an older version of the ruby interpreter, which is implemented in C ;-) Regards Micha
