Hi Alan,

All those paths will still take the same 2 hops provide some digipeater does 
not ignore the WIDE3-1 or WIDE4-1 which could be possible. The principle is 
the same as the "n" in WIDEN-n will be decremented regardless of the "N" 
setting. The fundamental problem is the "N" setting will catch the attention 
of many people thinking that the initial "n" setting was actually what "N" 
depicts. This causes unnecessary confusion. The whole concept of "N" was to 
depict the initial "n" setting as it entered the network so those at the end 
of the chain could see what the initial hop "n" setting may have been.
