Ok, so this is odd... All was fine, then I exited Xastir and restarted it. Maps are gone again, and needed to be re-indexed again. So, something's still a little rotten. I tried flushing all maps and reloading, quit, restart, gone again. Ideas? Hi Curt, all, I should have been clearer, the computer didn't crash, just the program. So, a file system-level corruption wasn't going to be the problem. (This system's been really reliable - until we had an extended power outage due to the recent "Highway 49 fire", it had been up for 599 days...) But, the re-indexing of all maps did it! I had tried the reload of the maps earlier, but to no avail. After the re-index, I had to go back into the map chooser, re-select the map, and then turn on the auto-maps. Now all is well. Thanks for the help!
