I have to chuckle a bit when I first read: "With a little mathematics and simple modeling, the errors behave in a definable way.  "

As an Engineer, I'm used to digging into complex concepts using math, but...  well, I was used to it.

Then see the 4 pages of math and graphs and my eyes glaze over, once again.  (:-) just a humorous observaton from an Engineer.
