If you use your callsign with a valid passcode, APRS-IS is the place for you ;-). The APRS-IS server operators would prefer clients connect to second tier servers as the core servers tend to be running close to their maximum connections. I recommend you use a round-robin DNS name so you are not limited to a single server (redundancy, load-balancing, etc.). The aprs2.net network has a number of round-robin DNSes such as rotate.aprs2.net. There are others listed at www.aprs2.net. Hope this helps. 73, Pete Loveall AE5PL pete at ae5pl dot net > -----Original Message----- > From: aprssig-bounces at tapr.org [mailto:aprssig-bounces at tapr.org] On > Behalf Of Ben Lindner-VK5JFK > Sent: Saturday, October 17, 2009 11:55 PM > To: vantagepro at yahoogroups.com; TAPR APRS Mailing List > Subject: [aprssig] aprs setup/weatherlink software > > Hi All, > > With in the Weatherlink pragramme you can set it up to upload to the > APRS network but as you can see below it is going to APRS IS Server: > second.aprs.net Is this the correct server or should it be something > else.
