I'll throw in one more pro-Garmin... I got my Garmin II+ about 12 years ago. Paid quite a bit of $$. Used on multiple searches and search trainings for years. I've had it in dozens of trips to Asia and Europe. Even more in the US. Used in the rain, snow, fog, and other weather conditions. Always worked for me. I now use a Garmin 60CSx with a screen protector. Quite happy. Oh, that old II+ is used in the car for APRS now. The rest of the time it sits on the dash of my truck that gets up to 170 f when parked in Nevada at my house. > My AV Map won't do any of that. > Dale
