This I know.  The MNEA output sentences holds UTC, SO to show us humans OUR time on the GPS screen, We must set something.  

MY Nuvi 750 doesn't have a UTC option.  I had to select Iceland..what's that?

As I say, the 750 you select a zone. (and daylight on/of for yanks)  It does it's own thing offset-wise internally.


It's the two purposes on D700 I don't understand..
