[aprssig] APRS Desert?

"There has been an intermittent digi for the last two or three years,  that was too far away to link to any others,  in the Sterling, CO area.  Did you hear it?"

I've heard it several times and even posted on the APRSSIG about it. Seems the op has set his position in the beacon, but it isn't APRS-format, thus guarantees that it will never show up on anybody map.
