[aprssig] RC-710 and TM-V7A Experience?

All,

I am still using an old TM-V7A, the basis of all these rigs, and it is
working as well as it did when I got in in 1998.  Kenwood lists the RC-710
as being compatible with it.  Anybody who has used this combination, and if
so, was it worth doing to add APRS rather than going for a complete new rig?
