> Congrats to Bob and all of you across the globe > involved in aprs advancement... I am humbled, and I notice that they noted the... >> recent...expanded... messaging ability of [APRS]... Just concidently today I updated the CQSRVR and AVRS web pages to take advantage of AE5PL's global CQSRVR (www.aprs.org/cqsrvr.html) and APRS messaging capabiltiy to allow mobile users to call global CQ's for Echolink and IRLP contacts (www.aprs.org/avrs.html). For example... When I am mobile and monitoring the local Echolink repeater, I send out this message to CQSRVR: CQ AVRS Bob on 147.075 EL#236562 By using this message to logon to the AVRS group at CQSRVR I will get similar messages from anyone else that is looking for a contact via AVRS. The ultimate goal of AVRS is to make the Echolink or IRLP connections automatic simply by end-to-end user callsigns via APRS, but we are not there yet. But getting proficient at Echolink or IRLP is a skill we all need to get familiar with (including me!) Bob, WB4APR
