It works! First off-air reception with APRS Messenger in Pasadena, CA !! The horrendous noise level at this QTH has temporarily subsided so that I can actually hear something BELOW S9 or so. Within the last 10 minutes or so (3:50 PM Pacific - local time, 23:50 UTC Monday), I have copied W0LED-2 (apparently in Minnesota) and WB8SKP-2 (in central Kentucky). Receive setup is a pair of 30-meter Hamsticks, forming a vertical dipole, about 20 feet above the ground connected to a Kenwood TS-50. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Stephen H.
