Careful - if you include wifi and have it automatically tether to your local network at home, next you'll have it streaming MP3s into the car stereo from a local repository of files synced up each night (say, podcasts). When I used my Nokia 770/800/810 more often, I was pretty happy with Maemo-Mapper. https://garage.maemo.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3536 With the Maemo platform fading away, I keep thinking I should pull down the source code and give it a go. Maemo-Mapper included APRS message receipt (not sending), APRS position displays and other information, though it's original purpose was to be a GPS with off-line maps and interface with a BT GPS, all using a touch-screen interface (modified GTK+ called "Hildon") Take Maemo-Mapper, un-Hildon-ize it, and add a screen similar to the one you've already built for the "regular APRS Heads-up" view and you can retain all of the mapping/tracking functionality already included in Maemo-Mapper. (Careful, the version 3.0 for the N900 cut out all of the useful APRS features) I'm also intrigued by your telemetry additions. On our last four-wheeling trip, my OT+ was sending out telemetry. The under-dash area hovered around 80-degF most of the day (with the heat on to keep my two daughters warm, of course) -Tom ke7vux
