Thanks for the tip!    My APRS webserver is now logged into *firenet.us:14580 
*.  The shapefiles are now lighting up again all over the US on my 
continental-US 30-meters HF APRS map at:

<wa8lmf.dyndns.org:14439>


I've updated my page on using the NWS shapefiles at:

<wa8lmf.net/aprs/get_nws_shapefiles.htm>

to reflect the availability of the *firenet.us*  feed.
