In a UI-View overlay file (*.pos located in the OVERLAYS folder) a line starting with an asterisk is a comment line. The file contains a list of items with their location and an optional status text line... e.g. LadyMinto!4851.72N/12330.49Wh LadyMinto>Lady Minto Hospital - Ganges, BC The name in both lines must be identical with a maximum of 9 characters. It doesn't have to be padded to 9 characters like an object. It's a maximum of 9 characters... e.g. EOC!4851.61N/12330.58Wo EOC>Emergency Operations Centre It doesn't go out on RF, but having a standard would be useful for other authors. Compatibility with what goes out on RF is of more importance, but it would certainly be a convenience if users of various APRS clients could share POS files. 73 es cul - Keith VE7GDH -- "I may be lost, but I know exactly where I am!"
