Quoting "Bob Bruninga" <bruninga at usna.edu>: > Say the object name was ISS-APRS, then if anyone anywhere sends a > message to "ISS-APRS" then any nearby IGate that sees that message > should automatically send back locally a "courtesy" posit for that > object. Just to inform that the Yaesu "APRS"-radioes do not allow sending messages to stations with letters in the SSID. They are limited to -1 to -15 There are other APRS services using letters in the "SSID" so either Yaesu has to fix their radioes or developers have to remember this Yaesu limitations.(and several other) Anyhow the system works by sending a message to "ISS" and this works fine and people using the Yaesu thing can also benefit from this nice tracking system. Not sure if they can send messages to i-e AO-51. I'm using Kenwood so for me it's ok ;-) Kai Gunter LA3QMA
