To all APRS users: If you're going to send a message to an Auto-Responder service like CQSRVR, ANSRVR, EMAIL, EMAIL-2, WHO-IS, or the new satellite pass prediction server, please, please PLEASE make sure you turn off your auto-answer! Unless you have an intelligent auto-answer (like APRSISCE/32) that operates on a time delay and operator activity detector, what ends up happening is the response from the query triggers an auto-answer from your radio or software which triggers another (most of the time error) response response from the original service. What should have been a 1+1 round-trip message, becomes a 1+1+1+1 with all of the attendant acks as well. This has been a common courtesy request from: Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE for Windows Mobile and Win32
