If you want to further analyze the Mic-E packets, see the details at http://aprs.org/aprs12/mic-e-types.txt and http://www.aprs.org/aprs12/mic-e-examples.txt but beware of the added or removed trailing space issue when it comes to detecting Yaesu VX-8's or otherwise looking at the "last" character of a Mic-E packet. The character you're looking for MIGHT be before a trailing space that was added along the way or it might BE a trailing space that was improperly removed.
