From the question below, apparently the D72 (and the D710 according to another post) display a G-overlayed diamond symbol regardless of the overlay specified by the station, but at least (apparently) the actual overlay is displayed to left of the G-diamond. Is it possible that Kenwood didn't implement the actual specified Numbered Diamond graphic, but included the G overlay on their base alternate table symbol because it looked good with the old I before it (I G, get it?)? Any way to get this fixed in some future firmware upgrade so as not to confuse potential non-IGate use of overlayed diamonds? At least the G would show to the left of the (hopefully plain) diamond indicating an old-style Gate? Lynn (D) - KJ4ERJ - Author of APRSISCE for Windows Mobile and Win32 PS. Asking the question based on the following post (secondarily confirmed) from the APRSISCE Yahoo group. > The symbol for my station runing APRSIS32 is the black diamond with the capital "T" on it. (T&) > > Can anyone explain why it shows up on the TH-D72 a a black diamond with a "T" to the left of the diamond and a "G" on the black diamond as well. > > Gerard > VK2JNG > > BTW APRS.FI and APRSIS32 are showing the symbol ok and the D72 and the D710 are not (?) showing it correctly.
