Actually... Comparing the December plot (Novia Scotia to Azores) and the track this one could be taking (Newfoundland to Spain) the distance is about the same, so... About 12-1/2 hours of silence looks about right. Last year's Balloon left the east coast doing well over 200 (225) and this one is currently slower (195-200) so...who knows.
